A Halloween Centerpiece:
paper craft
Here's a centerpiece you can make yourself! All you need is some imagination.
Materials:
1 piece olive green cardstock
1 piece gray cardstock
1 piece orange cardstock
1 piece brown cardstock
1 piece white cardstock
Red, yellow, green cardstock scraps
A few lightweight cardboard strips (Cereal boxes and Mac n Cheese boxes work really well for this)
Markers
Scissors
Glue
1 plastic baggie or foil or wax paper
Hole punch
The olive green piece of cardstock is the base of your centerpiece. It is where you will glue everything else to. How you arrange the pieces is up to you. Be creative and have fun!
Cut a tree shape out of the brown cardstock. Make sure to give your tree some branches so it can hold ghosts and leaves!
Cut four tombstone shapes from the gray cardstock. Write any names on them you wish and R.I.P. Make sure to leave a place at the bottom of each tombstone for a fold. This will make it stand up later.
Cut four pumpkin shapes from the orange cardstock. you can make them any size you wish, but two should be smaller and two should be bigger.
Cut four stems for the pumpkins from the brown cardstock scraps left over from your tree.
Cut three ghosts out of the white cardstock. They should all be different sizes.
Cut one cat from the gray or black cardstock.
Cut several leaves from the red, yellow, and green cardstock scraps. These will go on the tree and on the "ground" of your centerpiece.
Cut 4 tuffs of grass from the green cardstock to place randomly around the centerpiece.
Put It All Together:
Draw faces on the ghosts and pumpkins using magic marker.
Draw in cats eyes, nose, mouth, and whiskers. You can put a collar on your cat if you'd like. .
Cut and glue thin strips of cardboard to the back of your tree.
Make a hinge of cardboard to attach to the tree to make it stand up. The tree is the heaviest part of this papercraft and will need a little extra support.
Bend all pieces about 1/4 inch from the bottom. This is the part you will glue to the ground of your centerpiece.
Glue all parts on the ground and tree of your centerpiece. Arrange them however you would like. You can also go by the picture provided if you need help.
Make sure to draw graves in front of each tombstone.
When your webs are completely dry, gently peel them from the plastic baggie. Glue a spider to each one and place on the centerpiece.
When everything is dry, show off your project by setting it on a table or desk where everyone can see it.
