Thanksgiving Turkey Wreath

Turkey Wreath

Here's a really cute turkey wreath you can make and hang up for Thankgiving.

Materials:

Red, Orange, and Yellow construction paper

lightweight cardboard box-cereal boxes work great

Small piece of brown cardstock

Small piece of black construction paper

Glue

Markers

Trace a large circle shape on the lightweight cardboard. Trace a smaller circle shape inside the large circle leaving a 2 inch difference. This is your base for the wreath.

Cut out the large circle.

Cut out the inner circle.

Cut the red, yellow, and orange construction paper into strips 1inch wide and 3 inches long.

Glue the strips you cut from the construction paper into circle rings.

Now, glue the rings onto the wreath starting with the inner row. (You will have two rows.)

Don't worry if there is a small gap that can't fit another ring left over. Your turkey will cover it.

Let your wreath dry while you make the Turkey.

Cut a bowling pin shape out of the brown cardstock. This will be your turkey's body.

Cut a heart shape from red construction paper.

Cut a diamond shape from the orange construction paper.

Cut two feet from the black construction paper.

Fold your heart shaped piece so there is a small, flat area at the back.

Glue the two rounded edges together and set aside. This is the gobbler.

Fold your diamond shape in half and make the same kind of flat surface in the back as you did with the heart.

Glue the beak to the turkey's face.

Glue the gobbler to the turkey's face under the beak.

Glue the feet to the back of the turkey's body at the bottom.

Draw eyes on your turkey with a marker.

Cut a square from the orange construction paper for the hat.

Cut a rim for the hat from the yellow construction paper.

Glue the rim to the top of the square of the hat.

Glue the hat to the turkey's head.

Glue the turkey to the wreath. Use the turkey to cover any gap you may have in your rows of rings.

Hang your wreath anywhere you'd like.
