Turkey Figurine

(Picture coming soon)

Materials:

Small amount of white Model Magic clay (Crayola makes this)

Tin foil

Tempera paints in orange and brown

Googly eyes

Small amount of red craft foam

Five feathers in fall colors

glue

From the tin foil, roll a large ball for the body of your turkey.

Flatten one side of the large ball slightly so that it won't roll around.

Roll a smaller ball for your turkey's head from the tin foil as well.

Cover both tin foil balls with a thin layer of the Model Magic.

Press the smaller ball on top of the larger ball.

Smooth the Model Magic clay with your fingers where the two balls meet. This way, no one will know that it itsn't one piece.

Press a beak shape into the head of the turkey. You can do this from the clay already on the head.

Let your turkey dry for at least four hours to overnight before continuing.

Paint your turkey with the brown tempera paint. You will need to use two coats, allowing time to dry between them.

Paint the beak of your turkey orange.

Once your paint is dry, push feathers into your turkey at the back near the bottom of the turkey. If they won't push through easily, don't worry. You can glue them on.

Glue eyes on your turkey.

From the red craft foam, cut a crown and a wattle for you turkey.

Glue the crown to the top of the head.

Glue the wattle under the beak.

Let dry and enjoy your new Thanksgiving Turkey.
